Six years after the game's shutdown, KOG Studios unveiled a relaunch of the original Grand Chase under the name Grand Chase Classic that went online on August 2021. Unlike Grand Chase and Elsword, it is a 3D action game set in an Alternate Universe to the main Grand Chase story. While Elsword is considered the Spiritual Successor to Grand Chase, in late January 2018 an official sequel in the form of a mobile game was released in Korea and July 2018 for the Philippines, a global version released late in July and in Japan, called Grand Chase Dimensional Chaser which continues the saga of the characters after the original ending.Ī Spin-Off of Grand Chase entitled KurtzPel was released in 2019. Players were able to (based on how much progress they'd made in Grand Chase) transfer to Elsword and boost new characters up to higher levels, as well as receive a compensation package of cash shop items during an event following the shutdown.
Grand Chase's original servers were shut down on April 16, 2015. This game pretty much broke the mold for most MMOs. The game also had a PVP for all those competitive players. Afterward, you were awarded experience points and GP (in-game currency). The objective was to defeat enemy swarms and move on to the next room, until you defeat the boss at the end. It was room-based, meaning you joined in player-created rooms and entered dungeons which play out more like stages. The game played more like a console action platform game more than a traditional MMO. Same for job changes, except much more hellish). Each class started with unlocking a specific character first, then working towards unlocking others (some of these character unlocking quests were hard - unless you bought your way through them. Other characters/classes could be unlocked. Instead of normal character creation, players were given preset character classes, the first three being all female: Sword Knight (Elesis), which is a close-ranged character Archer (Lire), which is pretty obvious, and a Mage (Arme), also very obvious. The difference is that the game is room-based, has 3D graphics, and produces an almost more distinctive gameplay than most other MMOs. It was similar to MapleStory in being a 2D side scroller.

More intriguingly, the hacker appears to have compromised a Supercell Employee's email account and posted an internal email from Ilkka Paananen acknowledging the breech - thus lending legitimacy to the hacking claims, which Supercell also corroborated via Twitter on Sunday. Shortly after the hack was reported, Ethical Spectrum took to his or her Twitter to clarify that "no i dont have access to players credit card information".
The screenshot is allegedly taken from Supercell's Engagor account, a cross-platform social media management tool. It's unclear as to whether this figure is for Clash of Clans globally or a combination of Supercell's games in a given region, but 29.4M daily active users at an ARPDAU of $0.18 works out to an estimated daily revenue of $5.29 million, although revenue is listed at $5.15 million. Going one step further, the hacker posted an unverified screenshot which purports to show some enticing figures for Supercell - namely, its DAU and ARPDAU.
A hacker going by Ethical Spectrum has allegedly hacked Supercell's official Clash of Clans and Hay Day Facebook pages.
